There are many different variations of the ayahuasca diet. While there are some foods that are medically necessary to avoid, what you eat outside of that will vary from person to person. The diet is about cleansing for ceremony, so the body is best prepared for the sacrament/medicine.

Eat as plant based as possible

Avoid, or reduce consumption of, meats, dairy, and eggs

Avoid processed foods

Stick to whole foods (grains, vegetables, fruits)

Reduce caffeine consumption, avoid entirely if possible

Minimize oil and fatty foods intake

Avoid red meat and pork

Avoid spicy foods

Limit salt and sugar intake

Avoid any herbal remedies and nonessential vitamins
